The Ric Molina Group was formed in the Fall of 2012 and features guitarist & composer Ric Molina, with Samir Zarif on saxophone, Ted Baker on piano, Fima Ephron on acoustic & electric bass and Dan Pugach on drums.
Ric began playing the cuatro at the age of four and moved on to the guitar when he was six years old. His father was his main musical influence playing classical, pop, blues, and world music recordings while he painted in his studio. Molina absorbed these musical influences picking out the melodies on the guitar. Fima hails from London, England. His family moved to NYC when he was three years old where Fima began playing the bass guitar at age thirteen. A native of Philadelphia, PA, Ted Baker is in demand as a session keyboardist in NYC where he now resides. Israeli born Dan Pugach is a Brooklyn based drummer and composer. Since his arrival in the United States in 2006, Pugach has been active in the NYC jazz and Brazilian music scenes. He graduated with a B.M from Berklee College of Music and with an M.A. from the City College of New York.
