The Ric Molina Group was formed in the Fall of 2012 and features guitarist & composer Ric Molina, with Samir Zarif on saxophone, Ted Baker on piano, Fima Ephron on acoustic & electric bass and Dan Pugach on drums.

Ric began playing the cuatro at the age of four and moved on to the guitar when he was six years old. His father was his main musical influence playing classical, pop, blues, and world music recordings while he painted in his studio. Molina absorbed these musical influences picking out the melodies on the guitar. His connection to the guitar has always been a primary endeavor and as a result Ric has worked for most of his adult life from the age of twelve to the present as a guitarist in every professional setting that presented itself…  Read more ►

Fima hails from London, England. His family moved to NYC when he was three years old where Fima began playing the bass guitar at age thirteen. He attended Music and Art High School and by age fourteen was playing professionally. A native of Philadelphia, PA, Ted Baker is in demand as a session keyboardist in NYC where he now resides. After studying at Oberlin College, Ted worked with Grover Washington, Dexter Wansel, and Jean Carne moving on to appear on Steely Dan’s grammy winning Two Against Nature and Everything Must Go. Israeli born Dan Pugach is a Brooklyn based drummer and composer. Since his arrival in the United States in 2006, Pugach has been active in the NYC jazz and Brazilian music scenes. He graduated with a B.M from Berklee College of Music and with an M.A. from the City College of New York. His accolades include two consecutive ASCAP Jazz Composer Awards for his pieces Discourse This! and Brooklyn Blues as well as being selected to participate in the Betty Carter Jazz Ahead Program in Washington, D.C as a drummer and composer… Read more ►

Originally from Houston, TX, saxophonist Samir Zarif’s professional music career started while attending the University of New Orleans as a member of the Jason Marsalis Quintet & the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra. Upon moving to New York in 2004, Zarif attended the Manhattan School of Music and began touring the United States, Canada & Europe with notable artists Hans Glawischnig Trio, Sophie Milman, Miguel Zenon’s Big Band, and many others.
